Welcome, and thanks for your interest in Saks First UMC. As people of God who are called by Christ into community with each other we believe that we are to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the Saks community. This belief shapes all our ministries from worship to mission to education to fellowship.

Our mission in the Saks community is to grow together into Christian maturity, to reach out to others by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, and to meet the material and spiritual needs of our neighbors.

We are a vibrant and loving church reaching out to those in need and those who are searching for answers to life’s deepest questions. Saks First UMC celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2005 and we are looking forward to our next 50 years in ministry with the community of Saks.

Our Sunday morning worship services usually lasts about an hour. Our worship could be labeled “traditional” however we incorporate a wide variety of elements to enhance our worship experience.

What do I do when I arrive?
We have ample parking for everyone. Our guests are invited to use the spaces closest to the front steps. Our upper parking lot is reserved for our special needs guests and members. Our greeters will be happy to direct you and answer any questions you might have.

What do I wear?
Come as you would normally. Dress casually and comfortably.

 What about my children?
We love kids here at Saks First UMC. We provide a nursery for those under the age of five but children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend worship. A children’s sermon is always a part of the morning worship service.
